A body is called simple if it can be divided into a finite number of triangular pyramids.
For simple bodies, the volume is:
a). the value is non-negative;
b). if the body is divided into parts that are simple bodies, then the volume of this body is equal to the sum of the volumes of its non-overlapping parts;
c). the volume of a cube whose edge is equal to one is equal to one.
The volumes of two similar bodies are related as cubes of their respective linear dimensions.
